BULLYING CAN LEAD TO SUICIDE - TINA MEIER

Updated: Mar 18

Tina Meier’s firstborn child, Megan came into the world in 1992, and her second daughter, Allison was born in 1996. Her life was complete. Everything changed on October 16, 2006, when Tina’s 13-year-old daughter, Megan Taylor Meier, took her own life after being cyberbullied by an adult neighbor posing as a fictitious boy named “Josh Evans” on social media.

Tina made it her mission to prevent such tragedies and to help children and families affected by bullying and cyberbullying. In December of 2007, Tina’s Aunt Vicki gave her the first $100 to open up the Megan Meier Foundation.

Tina’s passion is stronger than ever and with the support of staff members, volunteers, her family, and close friends, the Foundation has reached over 350,000 students, parents, educators, and professionals across the United States.
